I love crows and ravens and these were originally plates made to be part of a larger assembly of images, Corvidae, but I also enjoy just printing the component plates. I use the chine collé technique to collage and print simultaneously so that the crow silhouettes can be placed atop these gorgeous little pieces of Japanese marbled paper. This plate also features a little crow sitting on the ground that reminds me of Edward Gorey's "Doubtful Guest." The image size is 12" x 3" (30 cm x 8 cm) on acid-free BFK Rives cotton rag paper that is 14" x 7" (35 cm x 18 cm).
