Jackrabbit

Everyone thinks bunnies are cute but then there is the family branch of hares, of which the jackrabbit, despite his name, is one.  "Mad desert prophet" is the best description of the jackrabbit that I've ever read. This series will eventually be editioned, but I currently have a few artist proofs for sale as I've been working on getting just the right purple tint to the black to really bring out the subtle tones in the background, which is aquatint that has had spit bite applied to give it that dreamy watercolor feeling. The bun himself is all tiny lines, no tones and, though I am notoriously critical of all my work I stand by the statement that his ear is maybe the best thing I've ever done. Seriously, it's subtle and glorious and I'm quite chuffed that I managed it. The image size is 12" x 14" (30 cm x 35 cm) on acid-free BFK Rives cotton rag paper that is 15" x 16" (38 cm x 40 cm).
