Crow Dance Etching - Dawn Crow Variation 2

The bunnies are the second animals in my silhouette chine collé series after the crows, but before the bats. Chine collé is a printmaking technique where you use the press to collage and print in one pass. The plate is inked and then I carefully place a piece of marbled paper across the entirety of this long skinny metal printing plate. I sprinkle some dry wheat paste powder on the paper, then lay my dampened cotton rag paper atop the stack and run it through the press. The wheat paste powder turns to glue when in contact with the damp paper and the fancy marbled paper is seamlessly laminated onto the cotton rag paper. Each one of these prints is unique as the paper is always slightly different from print to print.    The image size is 12" x 3" (30 cm x 8 cm) on acid-free BFK Rives cotton rag paper that is 14" x 7" (35 cm x 18 cm).
