Primavera Etching

I was thinking about the jokes that people tell around Easter time of rabbits laying eggs to explain the iconography of the season and somehow this idea popped into my head of bunnies burrowing into the ground and being the cause of tulips growing in the spring. This is the second attempt to get this image out of my head and onto a plate and I finally think I got it right.  I also use this print to do a couple fun techniques: a la poupée to get the sepia and black ink on one plate and chine collé on the flower. A la poupée involves dabbing in multiple colors of ink on the same plate and chine collé is a fancy way of saying using the press to add collage paper to the print. The image size is 18" x 9" on acid-free BFK Rives cotton rag paper that is 20" x 11" and it is part of an edition of 100.
