I wanted to experiment with doing a sort of low level viscosity roll type of image where you get two colors on one plate by doing the usual sort of inking where you rub one color deeply into the grooves of the plate but wipe it off the flat surface. And then you take a second, thinner ink and use a roller to apply it on top, in this case also employing a plastic stencil to shield the background. And what better subject for such a technique than the delightful pug with its fawn fur and black nose and ears. Plus those eyes. And that snortly nose. How could I not? The image size is 6" x 6" (15 cm x 15 cm) on acid-free BFK Rives cotton rag paper that is 8" x 8" (20 cm x 20 cm).
