This is a portrait of Moxie the Printers Devil (an old-fashioned title for a printer's apprentice) when she was just a wee tabby kitten. It's a line etching with chine collé. Which is a fancy way of saying that the little white feet and chest are actually tiny pieces of thin white paper placed on the printing plate before a I put the big gray paper down. I can then laminate the accent paper and print on top of it in one step. Her pink beans and nose are added after drying using watercolor. The print is 6" x 8" on an 8" x 10" piece of gray BFK Rives.
